President's Report

MAC Conference program enhancements for local BOMA BUFFALO members

In response to feedback we've received, we've made some changes in the MAC conference program that will be beneficial to our local members.  We've added two education sessions on Thursday afternoon May 3rd - topics are "Best Practices in Snow and Ice Removal" and "Climate Change in the Real Estate Industry".  Both sessions will be given by nationally recognized speakers.

We've also added a new pricing option which will allow people to attend all the conference events except the TOBY dinner on Friday night.  $200 per person gets you the education sessions and Welcome Reception on Thursday, the morning session on Friday with breakfast and lunch, AND your choice of tours on Friday afternoon that will highlight the wonderful assets we have in the Buffalo region.  Great value - the full conference registration including TOBY event is $325.

There will not be a regular membership meeting in April so that the MAC committee and the Board can focus on making the conference a big success - but to do that we need great participation from our local membership.

Don't delay - register today at the BOMA Buffalo website.  If you have any questions please reach out to Jennifer Aiple or myself.

There are many exciting events ahead for BOMA Buffalo including hosting MAC 2018 and we have started planning for our August 20th Golf Outing.  We hope you are able to join these events as well as are other monthly meetings.

Volunteers are always needed for our committees. We are also looking to fill the Secretary and Treasurer positions on the BOMA Board. Ask me how...

Get to Know A BOMA Buffalo Member!

Name: Jessica Boeckel
Job Title: Director of Commercial Leasing and Property Management
Company: Sinatra and Company Real Estate, LLC

1.    What is your favorite form of exercise?

2.    What was your first job?
My first job in Commercial Real Estate was a Tenant Services Coordinator at Cousins Properties (NYSE: CUZ), in Atlanta Georgia.

3.    What is the tallest building you have been to the top of?
The Empire State Building. I had an amazing opportunity last year to compete in the Empire State Building Run up running up the Empire State Building’s 86 flights—1,576 stairs.

4.    What accomplishment are your proudest of?
While working in Midtown Manhattan I had the opportunity to manage a project to pull a 13.8 kVA electrical feeder into a fully occupied 40 story building. Being able to implement the project balancing between Con Edison, city agency regulations, contractors and Tenant’s comfort and quiet enjoyment made for a challenge but completing the project and regaining the building’s electrical redundancy was most rewarding.

5.    What is your favorite thing about your career?
My favorite thing about Property Management is that every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn and to grow and never a moment to feel stagnant or bored.
