Professionals in the field of property management face continual change as the dynamics of technology and management practices improve on a constant basis. An effective tool for keeping up with change is professional development through education.

BOMA Buffalo's education mission is to offer courses in a classroom setting that are taught by qualified instructors to allow you to pursue one of the coveted RPA, FMA, SMT, or SMA designations, in addition to other professional development offerings. These classes provide relevant, up to date material, networking opportunities with your peers, and equally important, the opportunity to learn from qualified, experienced experts how to apply these facts in the real world.

BOMI International provides professional designation programs that serve as a vehicle for the property or facility manager to increase knowledge and provide the tools necessary to reach their professional goals. These college-level courses of study have been utilized by more than 18,000 commercial property professionals over the course of the past 30 years.

The Real Property Administrator (RPA®)
designation serves the educational needs of both third-party property managers and corporate property managers. It covers every aspect of property management, from the basics of building design, operation and maintenance to the specialized areas of commercial property law, marketing and leasing, and asset management. Through this program, property managers learn to maximize the net income of any property, be it one building or an entire portfolio.

The Facilities Management Administrator (FMA®) designation program benefits new and experienced facilities professionals alike. Through its in-depth coverage of critical-need topics, including planning and project management, facilities technologies, finance and investment, and environmental health and worker safety, the FMA program helps position facilities managers as key strategic contributors within their organizations.
The Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT®) and Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA®) designations provide firm foundations required for running sound, efficient, cost-effective maintenance departments. These programs cover every major building operating system form HVAC to plumbing to electrical to overall control systems.
